Beijing-based Lin Tianmiao and Wang Gongxin are not only individually recognized as highly influential in Chinese Contemporary Art, but are also an esteemed husband and wife team. In the interview, the couple talks about past collaborative and solo exhibitions, and share details about their professional and personal relationship. Lin is one of the first female artists from China to achieve international recognition. Following her studies in China, she moved to New York with her husband. The duo lived in the United States until 1995, when they both returned to China where they currently reside. Wang studied at the Sichuan Academy of Art, and his photographs have been exhibited worldwide in Canada, China, France, Italy, and the United States. After the well-received Bound Unbound show at Asia Society last year, Lin held another solo exhibition at Galerie Lelong in Paris in November.
