Billy Name, The Silver Age: Photographs From Andy Warhol’s Factory Opening at Milk Gallery
Billy Name, who lived in a small closet in Warhol’s Factory, was responsible for the legendary “silverizing” of the space, as well as documenting the antics of Warhol’s crew of artists, socialites, and weirdos. This comprehensive collection, shot between 1964-68, provide a window into one of the most fascinating eras in modern art history.

Kara Rooney in Conversation with Sue Scott at New York Academy of Art
Artist, writer, and NYAA faculty member Kara Rooney will join art dealer Sue Scott for a conversation about “upending the 20%”.

PEN American Center Cocktail Party at Sean Kelly Gallery
In anticipation of the upcoming Christie’s auction, First Editions/Second Thoughts, in which 75 writers and artists (including Patti Smith, Shirin Neshat, and Richard Serra) have revised their seminal works, Sean Kelly hosts a celebratory cocktail.

Shirin Neshat, Untitled (1996). Neshat added new works to this series for an upcoming auction in support of the PEN American Center. The auction will be celebrated with a cocktail at Sean Kelly Gallery on November 13.

“Wish You Were Here” with Gertrude Stein at The Jewish Museum
Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev will portray Gertrude Stein in a conversation with Jens Hoffmann as part of the Jewish Museum’s “Wish You Were Here” series of interviews with the subjects of Andy Warhol’s “Ten Portraits of Jews in the Twentieth Century.” If you ever wanted to ask the legendary writer and feminist a question, now’s your chance.

Creamcheese at the Guggenheim
As part of the Guggenheim’s current exhibition “ZERO: Countdown to Tomorrow, 1950s-60s,” comes this zany one-night event which will transform the museum into a tribute to the psychedelic Dusseldorf discotheque Creamcheese. Frequented by artists like Joseph Beuys and Gerhard Richter, the club also gave birth to the early electronic band Kraftwerk. The evening will feature a talk, a DJ set, and a performance by Brooklyn-based psychedelic rock band Oneida.

Semiotext[e] Presents: The Return of Schizo-Culture at MoMA PS1
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the influential independent press Semitext[e], Ps1 is hosting an afternoon of performances, screenings, music, and readings meant to evoke the 1975 Schizo-Culture conference. Kim Gordon, Gary Indiana, Richard Hell, Penny Arcade, and several other cultural luminaries will participate.
