Whether you’re a fan of Leonard Cohen or Rufus Wainwright, the city of Montréal must sound familiar to you. What a better way to discover the town than by wandering in the streets, enjoying the architecture and appreciating some good art? You can begin your journey with a group exhibition at Galerie Valentin, or contemplate preliminary drawings by Craig Hood at Beaux-Arts des Amériques. Before enjoying the view on the picturesque Saint Lawrence River, discover some beautiful landscape photographs by David Burdeny at the Galerie de Bellefeuille, or artworks by Isabelle Guimond at the Simon Blais gallery. Then, get ready to be surprised by Nicolas Baier, who will take you inside a particle accelerator, depicting the collision of sub-atomic particles with dynamic filaments of color at the Galerie Division. If you’re looking for contemporary art, you have a wide range of options, including Art Mûr, Thomas Henry Ross, or Nicolas Robert. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Montréal will also delight you with the new interactive installation by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. Last but not least, don’t miss the Jake and Dinos Chapman exhibition at the Fondation pour l’art contemporain. Whatever your interests, you’ll find that this Canadian city has a lot to offer, and, as the Irving Berlin song goes Goodbye Broadway, hello Montréal!
