What’s Really Cool at the Armory Show 2015? Brian Boucher Points it Out

Find out what Brian Boucher liked and didn't like about the Armory Show 2015 in this video.

What’s really cool this week? The Armory Show 2015 is in full swing, anchoring the bonanza of art fairs, exhibitions, and programming that is Armory Week (through March 8).

artnet News senior writer Brian Boucher headed to the piers to find some artworks that you will definitely want to check out—because they’re really cool.

Some you can’t miss, like a booth-size installation by German artist Michael Müller at Aanant & Zoo/Thomas Schulte and a sprawl of ceramic sculptures by William J. O’Brien at Marianne Boesky. Others you might have to look out for, like the letter-size drawings in crude oil by Soheila Sokhanvari at the Moving Museum and ballpoint-pen drawings at Artis by Keren Cytter.

In either event? They’re really cool.

The fair has been on an upward trajectory ever since Noah Horowitz took over directing the fair a few years ago, trimming the exhibitor list from nearly 300 to just under 200. This maybe makes it a bit easier to spot what’s cool, like Bettina Pousttchi’s large sculpture that forms a tribute to both Vladimir Tatlin and Dan Flavin, for example.

Watch for cameos by Neil Patrick Harris, George Lucas, artnet national critic Ben Davis, and Artforum publisher Knight Landesman.
