Wolverine, Princess Leia, and Other Superheroes Get the Old Master Touch, Part II

As a follow-up to our recent post “Batman, Superman, and the Hulk Get the Old Master Touch,” artnet News presents a second round-up of Sacha Goldberger’s characters in his series “Super Flemish.” Although his idea of dressing up superheroes in Elizabethan outfits has been seen in 2003’s comic book series 1602 (by writer Neil Gaiman and artist Andy Kubert), it’s great to see the comic book legends portrayed by real people.
Looking at the about page on his website, the French photographer is obviously no stranger to satire:

Hilariously delightful, the results of his spoof on pop culture and entertainment icons are more than amusing. They are groundbreaking, in a way, mixing art genres, time periods, fact, and fantasy. To name a few of his subjects featured here, we’ve got a stoic Wolverine, who has stylistically shredded his garb, a contemplative Darth Vader, the original bad bitch Princess Leia, and even grand master Jedi, Yoda—all portrayed in perfect chiaroscuro.
