New York gallery Eleven Rivington has added Venezuelan-born, Barcelona-based artist Meyer Vaisman to its stable. Vaisman is a former art dealer himself. In the 1980s, he co-founded influential Lower East Side Gallery International With Monument, showing work by artists such as Jeff Koons, Haim Steinbach, and Peter Halley.

Vaisman’s first show with Eleven Rivington is scheduled for May 22–June 27, 2014. Although he has exhibited his work internationally for 30 years, he has not had a solo show in New York since 2000 (at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise). He joins Katrin Sigurdardottir, Ishmael Randall Weeks, and Caetano de Almeida, among others, at the Lower East Side gallery.

Vaisman will continue to show with Kabe Contemporary, in Miami’s Wynwood Art district, and will have a solo show there in April 2014.
