The NYC Landmarks 50 Alliance has unveiled a new online exhibition, “Landmarks of New York: Historic Districts,” commemorating the upcoming 50th anniversary of the city’s Landmark Law. Since 1965, the Landmarks Preservation Commission has helped protect and preserve over 30,000 buildings and sites of architectural, historical, and cultural significance by granting them landmark status.

The Alliance has partnered with Google’s Cultural Institute on the NYC Landmarks 50 website, which underscores the importance of historic preservation and offers an overview of New York’s many historic districts through photos, maps, and additional information.
