On June 26, Magnum Photos held a private VIP opening party for “Magnum Contact Sheets” at MILK Gallery. The exhibition features famous photographs of cultural icons like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O and Muhammad Ali, culled from Magnum’s extensive archive and placed alongside the contact sheets that preceded them. Several legendary photographers attended, including David Alan Harvey, Josef Koudelka and Elliott Erwitt, but guests continued to buzz about the presence of Martin Parr, who was dressed in a patterned shirt commemorating Nelson Mandela. He happily posed with several enthusiastic guests, while other attendees enjoyed cocktails in the presence of fabled moments from years past.
