“Krappy Kamera Competition” Awards Reception at SohoPhotoGallery
Opening reception to present winners of the 17th-annual  “Krappy Kamera Competition.” Photographers are invited to submit their best work using only toy, plastic, and pinhole cameras. Winners receive . . . more Krappy Kameras of course. As the organizers admonish would-be contestants: “Remember it’s the Krappy Kamera Competition not the Krappy Print Competition.” This exhibit runs from February 4-28.
SohoPhotoGallery, 15 White Street, 6-8 PM.

“Once Upon a Time and Now” Art Exhibit: The Relaunch of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center
As part of the relaunch of the Center after a $9.2 million renovation, the famed LGBT community center will host “Once Upon a Time and Now,” an art exhibition paying homage to the historic 1989 installation show “The Center Show.” Featuring work by David LaChapelle, Kenny Scharf, Martin Wong, Robert Storr, and others, Keith Haring’s legendary, awesomely explicit second floor bathroom murals will also be on display.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, 208 West 13 Street, 6:30 PM.

Building SculptureCenter Benefit Exhibition at Maccarone
All the proceeds from this exhibition, and accompanying sale, will go towards giving artists more opportunities to make and exhibit work. Participating artists include Rashid Johnson, Camille Henrot, Josh Smith, Margaret Lee, and Kon Trubkovich.
Maccarone NY, 98 Morton St, Tuesday Feb 3-Thursday Feb 5, 10 AM-6 PM.

WEDNESDAY February 4

Opening Reception “Dalí: The Golden Years: Drawings and Prints of Salvador Dalí, 1930s-70s” at the National Arts Club
An exhibition described as “one of the most significant and instructive graphical displays of Dalí’s genius,” this National Arts Club show invites you to view nearly one hundred drawings including a series of rarely seen early prints.
The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, 6-8 PM.

FRIDAY February 6

“Obsession” at the Met
This past weekend, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art officially launched its MetFriday series, highlighting the museum’s late night programming on Friday evenings. This week, in honor of “Madame Cézanne,” the museum’s exploration of the artist’s intense relationship with his wife and artistic muse, Hortense Fiquet, Attacca, the Met’s string quartet in residence, will perform works by Leoš Janáček. Married to Kamila Stösslová, a woman 37 years his junior, the Czech composer drew similar artistic inspiration from his partner. Don’t forget to post your videos to Instagram under #MetFridays.
The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 7 PM.

SUNDAY February 8

“Banquet for Pantagruel,” a Performance and Film Event at MoMA PS1
This week’s Sunday Sessions includes a banquet table and a video projected above it. The performance examines the outer limits of physical attraction and repulsion. Leigha Mason films and live-streams the event.
MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Ave. Long Island City, 12-6 PM.
