It’s time to shake off your Labor Day weekend malaise, because the art world is back with full force. From an Interpol concert at the Met to a benefit for the Children’s Museum of the Arts chaired by three big-name artists, there’s no shortage of fun to be had this week in New York.

Tuesday, September 2
Interpol Live in The Temple of Dendur: A Celebration of the New Met App
Rock band Interpol will play material from their forthcoming album at the Temple of Dendur in celebration of the Met’s highly anticipated new flagship app, which launches the same day.
7:00-9:00 PM. Tickets are $45 and currently sold out, but there is a wait list.

Wednesday, September 3
Rachel Feinstein’s Last Days of Folly
In conjunction with the Madison Square Park Conservancy and Marianne Boesky Gallery, Feinstein will celebrate the last days of her sculpture Folly‘s display in Madison Square Park with a one-of-a-kind performance art festival that’s guaranteed to bring out big names in both the art and fashion worlds.
5:30-8:30 PM. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, September 4
Werner Herzog in Conversation at BAM
Legendary director Werner Herzog will engage in a “wild and wide-ranging” discussion with New York Public Library director of programs Paul Holdengräber.
8:00 PM. Tickets are $25.

Friday, September 5
Children’s Museum of the Arts Art Auction
Co-chaired by Jenny Holzer, Mickalene Thomas, and Barnaby Fernas, the 10th annual auction will take place at the plush Dream Hotel Downtown. Featuring both a live and silent auction to raise funds for the museum’s community arts programs, it’s sure to be a glamorous evening for a great cause.
7:30-9:30 PM. Tickets from $150.

Saturday, September 6
First Saturdays For Families at the New Museum
The New Museum will be open to families free of charge in celebration of the first Saturday of the month. There will be a family workshop in conjunction with the current exhibition, “Here and Elsewhere”.
10:00-12:00 AM. Free and open to the public.

Sunday, September 7
Guided Tour of The Cloisters Gardens
Spend the day at The Cloisters and enjoy a guided tour of the sumptuous gardens before the fall chill sets in.
1:00-2:00 PM. Free with museum admission.
