The third sign in the zodiac calendar, Gemini, is represented by celestial twins, and those born under the sign (May 21—June 20) are said to possess two unique sides to their personalities.

Geminis are upbeat and voraciously intellectual. They love to have a finger in every pie, but need to float from passion to passion since their attentions shift at any given moment. Those in the art world may be hyphenates, like collector-dealer-advisors. They are in-the-know bon vivants, likely to attend three gallery dinners a night and have studio visits lined up with artists the rest of us won’t even hear about for another six months. Famous artists who were Geminis include Diego Velázquez, Donald Judd, and Anni Albers.

To celebrate Gemini season, we’ve explored the Artnet Gallery Network to find works that celebrate the charming, multi-faceted, and bubbly spirit that define this zodiac sign.
