Let’s check back in with Berlin. The city’s Gallery Weekend is kicking off tomorrow, with 46 local galleries participating with a range of special exhibitions and events. Unlike last year’s scheduling, the weekend doesn’t conflict with Art Cologne so you aren’t forced to choose one over the other—phew. Instead, take a gander at some of our top picks of the moment, and enjoy all that Berlin’s gallery scene has to offer.

First stop: Fresh off the lauded debut of her Met rooftop installation, Huma Bhabha is currently on view at Contemporary Fine Arts gallery—so no need to feel left out if you can’t make it to New York this summer. Then, Thomas Struth is always a hot ticket, with the German photographer presenting a new body of work at Galerie Max Hetzler. In his latest series, the artist collaborated with the Leibniz Institute of Zoological and Wildlife Reasearch, continuing his fascination with the aesthetics of laboratory environments. You should also head over to Blain|Southern to catch Frank Thiel’s “Quinceañeras,” his first exhibition with the gallery. Thiel photographed Cuban teenagers celebrating their fifteenth birthdays over a period of two years, using the celebration as metaphor for examining a culture and society in flux.

Find artnet’s full list of picks below, and have a busy and art-filled weekend with the rest of Berlin.
