It might well be the first time a jazzman enters the stable of a blue chip art gallery. New York’s Luhring Augustine has taken on pianist Jason Moran. Moran’s practice has long been at the crossroads of music and performance. In 2012, for his residency at the Whitney Biennial, Moran presented the project BLEED. Moran is also a long-standing collaborator of Joan Jonas, with whom he performed at dOCUMENTA (13).
