Nicolas Cage’s Extremely Rare 1954 Bugatti Coupe Worth Millions Hits the Auction Block

An incredibly rare 1954 Bugatti type 101C coupe once owned by Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage is making an appearance at Bonhams auction house in France this month.
Only six models were built, which makes it the star lot in Bonhams September 5 sale in Chantilly.
According to Bonhams’s press release, Cage is to have purchased the rare coupe around the time he starred with Angelina Jolie in his 2002 action film, Gone in Sixty Seconds, which was a tribute of sorts to beautiful and expensive motor vehicles.
In 1951, Bugatti announced they would produce 50 Type 101 cars modeled off the company’s pre-war Type 57 for delivery in July 1952. After their interest waned and other projects took precedence over the revived road car, only six Antem coupe’s were ever completed. One of those six up on the auction block could set you back €1,500,000-1,800,000 ($1.7 million – 2 million). But with the weak euro, it may just be a steal for vintage car connoisseurs abroad.
“The 101 offered is one of just six 101s built, and the only one featuring this particular design of unique coupé coachwork by Antem.” Phillip Kantor, Bonhams European head of motoring said in a statement. “It’s exceptionally stylish.”
Sounds like the gavel may hit the podium in less than 60 seconds.
