Stolen Gauguin and Bonnard Paintings Found in Italy

Missing for 40 years, two works by Paul Gauguin and Pierre Bonnard have been recovered in Italy, the country’s culture minister announced on Wednesday morning. Details are expected later in the day, but early reports suggest they are likely Gauguin’s Still Life of Apples and Grapes and Bonnard’s Les Deux Sauteuils. Those works were stolen from a London home located in Regents Park on June 6, 1970 and remain missing. If projections are true, the find would be worth millions.
