Take a peek into the life of auctioneer, collector, and artnet News columnist Simon de Pury. Via his Instagram, he will be sharing a bit of glamour and a bit of excitement with us each week—whether he’s trotting the globe or on the scene closer to home.
This past week Simon attended the Watermill Center’s Annual Benefit, where he gave a rousing auction, sat with Jim Jarmusch and Isabelle Huppert, and witnessed performances orchestrated by his friend Robert Wilson, another active Instagram user. Simon spent the remainder of the weekend visiting clothing designer Lisa Perry’s new East Hampton outpost, sampling ice cream, visiting with Eric Fischl, and enjoying the work of sculptor Tony Cragg. A mysterious, furry creature also made an appearance during Simon’s sun-soaked week, documented only by an artful close-up of the creature’s shiny purple eye.
