Art lovers, rejoice! The annual two-city kickstart to Germany’s fall art season, the Düsseldorf Cologne Open Galleries (DC Open), is going ahead as planned (with social distancing measures in place, of course). Yes, read that again: an art event that’s not canceled this year.

This year, the even-more-festive-than-usual weekend will bring together 50 galleries split between the two cities. Of course, a bit more planning is taking place this year, and to assure safety, the DC Open has introduced guided gallery tours limited to groups of eight to allow art lovers to appreciate exhibitions in both cities (they’re approximately 45 minutes apart), so be sure to sign up in advance.

If you happen to be in either city (or ideally both) we’ve picked nine exhibitions that you won’t want to miss.
