Imagine 1000 candles littered around the spacious yard of an exclusive East Hampton home and you have a vision of the late-night dinner and soiree in honor of Melissa Chiu, formerly of the Asia Society and incoming Director of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C. Hosted by collector and philanthropist Yung Hee Kim and artnet News Editor-in-Chief Benjamin Genocchio, the event began with a seated dinner for 60 people, catered by the New York art world’s restaurant of choice, Sant Ambroeus. Following the meal was an after party for over 100 well-heeled, art-minded Hamptons residents, plus artists, collectors, dealers and designers including Vivienne Tam, Polina Proshkina, Di Mondo, Austin Scarlett, Susan Shin, Arne and Millie Glimcher, Leila Heller, Taylor Olsen, Terrie Sultan, and Her Royal Highness Sheikha Paula Al Sabah, Queen of Kuwait, who was in town to be honored at the Watermill Center Benefit the following night. Sheikha Paula won the fashion stakes with a dramatic electric green outfit seemingly cut from a single piece of cloth.
