SCORPIO AND THE CREATIVE URGE
Of course when our obsessions are out of control, we could go around like zombie sex fiends eating people and little dogs.
We’re often taught that our primitive instinctual drives are taboo. Scorpio rules all kinds of deep wishes, mainly because it is the basis of our yearning and curiosity for every sort of experience. As we are learning from life itself, as over-attached or fanatically immersed as we can get in anything (or anyone), November’s effects from the planet Neptune show us all the folly of such obsessive attachments. We’ll see as much this month, thanks to disappearances of people and the vanishing of many fantasies.
But it’s that same Scorpio feeling (all the Signs feel it more or less) that fuels all creation on any level in any field, be it science, politics or art—especially art. It’s what drives artists eternally to be searching the whole Universe to find something new and hitherto unseen.
It inspired the painters of Lascaux to doodle on the cave walls, Mozart to tickle the ivories, and Rauschenberg to turn his bed into a canvas.
Contrary to what many people believe, therefore, Scorpio is not all about erections, orgasms, and staring at people’s asses. True, it can come on like a devastating typhoon, but it is also the force that grows pink flowers on a black lava island.
And if creative intensity is what you’re looking for, November 2016 is the month.
LEO THE SCORPIO
Scorpios like Leonardo Dicaprio have an awe-inspiring amount of staying power in bed or out. The male members of that sign always exude magnetism, and can be persuasive and credible in the role of an oily tango teacher or used car salesman. They’re best at playing the hero, dying bravely, and are so convincing they can get an audience of grownups to sob shamelessly.
Even though his character drowns at the end of Titanic, in real life Leonardo DiCaprio would have made it all the way to New York Harbor doing the breaststroke. And when Scorpios get bitten by a bug, or cause, God help anybody who doesn’t pay attention. Talk about one pointedness of mind and superhuman zeal.
Most of us at least make an attempt to recycle our trash, but Leonardo DiCaprio is not kidding. He says that the human beings on this planet are in much greater danger than anyone cares to face. DiCaprio wants to channel his creativity into championing our salvation before Mother Earth throws us all the hell out of here. Never ignore a Scorpio on a mission. Or a hunt.
ARIES / ARIES RISING (March 21–April 19)
You’ve come a long way, and in some ways, you’re on top of the world , even if you are mumbling your dissatisfaction with the regime you’re living under. You’ve got clout, so use it wisely. Many folks end up becoming the kind of boss they always hated. Courtesy does not come totally easily to impatient Aries, so remember to be human. Behind the scenes, you can hide as much naughtiness and self-indulgence as the rest of us, so try to stay sober, and functioning, and go easy on “medication” and magic make-believe. If your dog starts giving you antisocial advice, get help immediately.
TAURUS / TAURUS RISING (April 20–May 20)
With this New Moon, you can finally lighten burdens and heal any relationship traumas of 2015. Tax issues, legal and fiscal bonds with other people, can always get sticky, and no matter how rich you are, we’ve all got bills to pay and apprehensions about the global economy. Luckily you do have some good advisors to keep you healthy—mentally and physically fit—so despite the tricks life is forever playing, you’re still standing. Friendships are tricky, and it may be difficult to determine human error from betrayal. We all have to learn how to forgive, especially when you can’t tell fact from fiction.

GEMINI / GEMINI RISING (May 21–June 21)
As usual you are bouncing back and forth between end-of-the world fantasies and a light-hearted buoyancy and optimism that interrupts every nightmare with a candy-cane dream. As scary as the future can be, there are always options with Jupiter in the fifth house. Between the Full Moon and Neptune’s change of direction you’ll see that your reputation can survive even a tsunami of bad publicity, provided you forget about taking over the world. There’s political corruption everywhere, so just keep your nose clean and enjoy a happy home and a nice meal to fill your hungry tummy.
CANCER / CANCER RISING (June 22–July 22)
With New Moon in your 5th house—good time to perform passionately, on stage or off. It’s actually comforting, even if annoying, to have to cope with demanding people or public commitments that drag you back into the world. Complications? Always, Relationship Triangles cannot be avoided with seventh house Venus-Pluto (from mid-month on). It’s always with a person you cannot live with or without. Add Mars in the 8th house, and you’ve got a case of intense yearning going on. It’s good to stay rooted, though, and in communication with practical folks who haul you back to Earth when brain is swimming in fog.
LEO / LEO RISING (July 23–August 22)
Pluto has been teaching you that the path to mastery is accepting humble work you might have once thought too menial. It also means not surrendering to bad habits, but treating your body like the temple it is and treating it right, consistently. You do have to break the rules and play, too, mainly because no Leo has ever behaved for too long. You’ve got to be financially savvy as well, mainly because the starving artist routine doesn’t work. Make every effort to focus on business and be less defensive about your sexual attractiveness or gender identity. That stuff is so 20th century.
VIRGO / VIRGO RISING (August 23–September 22)
You can’t blindly give all your power away, however, to a seductive figure or needy soul. We all love the romance phase, but it doesn’t last forever. Pluto in your fifth is a powerful urge to give love, but you’ve got to watch out for the South Node Neptune conjunction—the attempt to change anyone is usually fruitless. Gotta draw the line somewhere between forgiving bad behavior and accepting abuse. There’s definitely a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. Good boundaries and honest communication are the two secrets to success.
LIBRA / LIBRA RISING (September 23–October 22)
Jupiter through your sign helps you laugh and find a lesson in everything, even with deeply personal family issues at hand. We look back to the past hoping to find comfort and shelter there, even if we have to fabricate a picture of security. We must always, like it or not, return to the realities of the present. You’ll find it easier as the month goes on to socialize more comfortably, take a chance in life, and gamble a little. For one thing, finances are better. Do not sit in the house and stew. Health-wise, please find a sane balance between blind denial and thinking every hangnail is terminal.
SCORPIO / SCORPIO RISING (October 23–November 21)
The way some people cower at the mention of Scorpio is so ridiculous. We’ve all got a dark side that loves to sneak into places normal people don’t dare to go. We all have it, and when we conquer our fear of those weird thoughts and feelings, we are truly creative beings. Jupiter’s transit, currently in your 12th house, softens you, thank God, and it adds a dimension of warmth and compassion that enhances your humanity and ability to forgive. When emotionally insecure, you could hug your teddy bear till you squeeze the stuffings right out of it. Don’t devour it. Friend it.
SAGITTARIUS / SAGITTARIUS RISING (November 22–December 21)
Despite Saturn in your Sign, Jupiter’s transit brings new people into your life and presents more freedom and new options. In your effort to recreate yourself from the ground up, you’re probably too into your own head to be terribly interested in anybody else. Thanks to a second house Mars and Pluto, you’re getting way smarter about money, which gives you power to move whenever you want. Remaining cozy in bed is a viable choice, however, but the best way to overcome exhaustion and abandonment anxiety is to get the hell out of the house, don’t just dwell on the past and go to work.
CAPRICORN / CAPRICORN RISING (December 22–January 19)
Even under normal circumstances life is confusing. It’s a hundred times worse when you’re trying to do a hundred things at once and asking everybody for advice you cannot follow. That’s the Neptune effect. If your brain is on overload, it will be difficult to make yourself understood. Although you know what’s right, if you can’t exactly focus well enough to communicate it, you’ll be frustrated. Good news? The culmination of Jupiter presents individuals in high places and professionals who do respect you. And, to be frank, at the moment part of you feels like you’re a million miles away from everybody.
AQUARIUS / AQUARIUS RISING (January 20–February 18)
Few people understand the inner anguish and personal ordeal you have been so bravely overcoming. You’re out of patience now, and despite your normal good nature, you don’t want to be told to cool it and take it easy. The exit of Mars from your 12th house may not heal all your ills, but it will certainly give you more energy and absolute determination to regain your freedom. Money? It is not about money right now. It’s about dedication to helping others and following your own ministry or your own artistry. If you focus too much on profit now, the Universe could step in, and you’ll misplace your wallet.
PISCES / PISCES RISING (February 19–March 20)
Of all the Signs, maybe you have the toughest time right now internally. Part of you feels strong and liberated, as if for the first time you can truly honor yourself and know you’re a person of intelligence and wisdom and beauty. At the same time the station of Neptune could be dizzying, and it could make you wish you were somewhere else–anywhere else. As unsteady as you may be, you’ve got some practical clear-headed allies, partners, or mates who can slap you back into consciousness when the wobble sets you spinning out of control. Just be the mystic with the open mind.
