Salon: Printed Matter at The Cooper Union
As part of the programming for Bring Your Own Body, co-curator Jeanne Vaccaro will be in conversation with Amos Mac, photographer, writer, and co-founder of Original Plumbing, the quarterly publication documenting the culture of transgender men. The event is a pop-up salon on transgender printed matter, focusing on “transgender organizing and community formation in the pre-digital era.”

ARCADIA at BHQF Studio
The fundrasier for the Bruce High Quality Foundation coincides with its opening for ARCADIA, an exhibition that uses Nicholas Poussin’s landscape paintings as “a point of inspiration and departure” for its curatorial strategy. The night will feature live performances from Francis and the Lights, Brianna Lance and LE1F, DJ sets from Justin Strauss and House of Ladosha, a live video set by Zoe Berger, and performance art by James Sprang, Z Behl and Eamon Monaghan, and appearances by Alban de Pury, Alexander Acquavella, Dev Hynes, House of Ladosha, Phong Bui, Vito Schnabel, and others.

Protest, Women and Performance: Conversations in Black Freedom Studies at NYPL Schomburg Center
Panelists Sherie Randolph (University of Michigan), Tanisha Ford (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) and Ruth Feldstein (Rutgers University) will meet to discuss what scholar Jeanne Theoharis describes as “looking at how African American women used their voices, their style, their art, and their law books to insist on liberation.”

aCCeSsions Launch Event at the SculptureCenter
The Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, launches their student-led online journal, aCCeSsions, a biannual look at curating both within the art world and beyond. The event features performances by Deanna Havas and Puppies Puppies as well as a digital tour of the aCCeSsions website and the inaugural issue The Art World is Normal.

International Festival of Text-Sound Poetry at the Goethe-Institut
The first day of the International Festival of Text-Sound Poetry (November 7-10), both Charles Bernstein and Erin Merrill will explore contemporary and historical approaches to the genre., which tends to emphasize the sound of speech over textual interpretation.

Sunday Sessions, Greater New York: It’s Not What Happens, It’s How You Handle It at MoMA PS1
Organized by John Giorno and Mark Beasley, poet, visual artist and originator of Performance Poetry, Giorno will revisit his seminal work Dial-A-Poem Poets (1968), which explored the relationship of poetry to technology. He will be joined by Harry Burke, Todd Colby, Andrew Durbin, Ben Fama, Sophia le Fraga, Fanny Howe, Paolo Javier, Tan Lin, Morgan Parker, and Bunny Rogers.
