This past June, artnet News reported that famed icelandic musician, Björk, will get a retrospective at MoMA (see Björk gets MoMA Restrospective). To much of her fans’ delight, coinciding with the show, the artist will also release a new album titled Vulnicura.

The avant-garde, multidisciplinary artist shared the news via a handwritten note that she posted to her Facebook page: “I am very proud to announce my new album is coming out in march. It is called: Vulnicuto. The songs are called Stonemiker, Lionsong, History of Touches, Block Lake, Family, Not Get, Atom Dance, Mouth Mantra, & Quicksand.”

“Björk is an extraordinarily innovative artist whose contributions to contemporary music, video, film, fashion and art have had a major impact on her generation worldwide,” MoMA’s chief curator at large, Klaus Biesenbach, said in a statement. “This highly experimental exhibition offers visitors a direct experience of her hugely collaborative body of work.”

Opening March 8, the retrospective, titled “Björk,” will feature more than 20 years of the artist’s projects including film, visuals, instruments, objects, costumes, and performances. Visitors can also expect a newly commissioned music and film experience conceived by Björk, director Andrew Thomas Huang, and 3-D design company Autodesk.

Last year, the museum acquired her mobile app for their permanent collection (see MoMA Buys Björk’s Biophilia App for Its Collection).
