In the wake of the global health crisis, rainbow-themed artworks have appeared as a sign of hope in cities across the UK. On building facades, windows, billboards, and streets, many families and their children have joined together to create colorful art as a way to say thanks to the country’s NHS healthcare workers, and to inspire optimism and unity.
In response to the initiative, last month, Cartier UK reached out to members of the creative community (including artists, actors, and fashion designers), friends of the house, and employees to submit their own rainbow creations, noting that the winning works would soon feature in Cartier’s New Bond Street store in London.
Cartier UK received more than 200 submissions over the two-week entry period, with the works featuring all forms of visual media, from drawing and painting to photography and collage.
“I am truly inspired by the brilliant submissions we have received from so many friends of our maison and employees,” said Laurent Feniou, Cartier UK’s managing director. “These colorful displays of solidarity are a wonderful tribute to the tireless work carried out by the NHS.”
