VIEWER’S CHOICE
Everyone’s favorite sneaker, the humble but classic Converse All Star, is getting the Andy Warhol treatment. And as fashion/art collaborations go, we’re pretty jazzed about this one. Available in a variety of silhouettes, the shoes feature iconic Warholian imagery like Campbell’s soup cans, advertisements, and newsprint. For when, where, and how to snag them, check out Converse x Andy Warhol Coming In February.
STATE OF THE UNION
Artist and Columbia student Emma Sulkowicz, who is best known for her ongoing senior thesis project that involves carrying a mattress wherever she goes on campus in protest of the university’s alleged mishandling of her sexual assault, was invited to the State of the Union address by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Gillibrand is currently pushing for harder laws on how sexual assault charges are handled on college campuses. For more details, read Emma Sulkowicz to Attend State of the Union.

Koons has lost two of the three previous suits against him, but does this one have a shot? See Jeff Koons Plagiarism Lawsuit Could Top Millions for more details.
ART FORGERY

During the operation, nine artworks were seized: six attributed to Miró, two to Matisse, and one to Picasso. The operation has also prevented the sale of two fake lithographs attributed to Miró. For more information, read Picasso, Miró, and Matisse Forgery Ring Busted.
