For New Yorkers, Labor Day is already upon us. But over in Copenhagen, you still have this whole weekend to explore the city’s gallery scene. From the very best emerging talent to contemporary heavy hitters, we’ve rounded up a wide-ranging list to make sure you get the full picture of what’s out there. Visit Galleri Tom Christoffersen for the powerful double feature of Chris Burden and Stig Brøgger titled “Shooting / Shoot,” drawing interesting parallels between two daring performance artists’ work. For a superb group exhibition, Bianca D’Allessandro presents the trio of rising painting star Dana Lok, Turner Prize winner Laure Prouvost, and fascinating sculptor Mia Goyette for what amounts to a satisfyingly harmonious and challenging show. Then, be sure not to miss the latest work of photo master Torbjørn Rødland, who is currently displaying his two latest series, Wordless and Fence Studies, at Nils Stærk. His implacably Nordic aesthetic and deadpan humor is always a must-see.
