Video games developer Loot Interactive has created an amazing new video game based on the surrealist artworks of M.C. Escher, Salvador Dalí, and René Magritte.

In the video game, called Back to Bed, players take the role of a character known as Subob—the subconscious identity of an animated sleepwalker named Bob—through a variety of increasingly challenging levels, with the goal of helping him get back into his bed.

Users must navigate a bizarre dreamland filled with stairways, portals, and checkerboard-patterned hallways to help Subob reach his goal. The game sounds playful enough, but players will also face riddles and puzzles that require superior problem solving and logic skills that could stump even the sharpest minds.

According to the game’s website, those who venture in the fantastic worlds created for Back to Bed will be able to play it in different settings, which have whimsical names such as “30 Flights of Frenzy,” “Puzzle Gameplay Turned Upside Down,” “Appreciate the Art of Impossible,” and the daunting “Nightmare Mode.”

The aim of the game is to help Bob get back in to his bed.

Back to Bed was originally launched as a mobile game on platforms such as iOS and Android. Now the game is coming to living rooms all over the world with versions being released for PlayStation 3 and 4, as well as Sony’s Vita system.
