Based in Schweinfurt, Germany, Eins zu Eins has become synonymous with innovative design and unparalleled quality and is internationally recognized for its exclusive furniture pieces born out of close collaborations with architects and artists. Recently, Eins zu Eins debuted the Never Stop Moving (2024) folding table designed by German artist MadC. Limited to an edition of 100, and each numbered and hand signed by the artist, the table is as much a sculptural work of art as it is a functional object for use in everyday life.

Born as Claudia Walde in Bautzen, Germany, in 1980, the artist known as MadC began her artistic practice with graffiti writing and street art in the mid-1990s. She went on to study art at both Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, Halle; and Central Saint Martins College, London, and today her practice has grown to include expansive outdoor and urban murals and paintings, as well as graphic design and writing.
Recent major projects include murals created for the Sinkka Museum, Finland, and the city of Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., and forthcoming her work will be featured with the Museum Reinhard Ernst, Wiesbaden, which opens June 23, and previously designed the exterior façade of Gemäldegalerie of the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt.

MadC’s style is known for its energetic air and bold color schemes—an effect that can be traced to her work as a graffiti artist. Her newest endeavor as a furniture designer carries on this dynamic element, which has become a hallmark of her work, and is highlighted in the present Never Stop Moving folding table.
Playing with the possibilities of color across the surfaces of the table, which are custom designed and made by MadC, the various hues appear to playfully glint through, and tap the manner in which transparent layers of paint are frequently used when spray painting. The brightly colored legs and moveable parts allow for the table to be sculpturally and functionally transformed; placed flat or leaned against a wall, as a small console or writing table, or, in its fully unfolded state it can comfortably seat six as a dining table, measuring 182 x 89 x 73 cm.

“I have been painting in the streets for more than 25 years, interacting with people who didn’t expect to come across art,” said MadC in a design statement. “Catching the spirit of experiencing art by surprise was my goal when creating this table. It is a three-dimensional piece of art, a changeable sculpture, that is also an everyday object in use. A table that sparks curiosity and that adapts to peoples’ different life situations.”
