An impressive roster of artists is creating merch for a collaboration between this year’s Felix Art Fair in Los Angeles and New York’s Dover Street Market. The artists include Katharina Grosse, David Hammons, Jenny Holzer, KAWS, Mike Kelley, Sterling Ruby, Cauleen Smith, and more, along with brands from Levi’s to Comme des Garçons.

Felix and Dover Street are joining forces for the first time, and they aim to do nothing less than “redefine the traditional art fair experience” by bringing together art, fashion, and design. The offerings include collaborations such as Hammons with Denim Tears; Ruby with Vans; and Total Luxury Spa t-shirts with artists including Meriem Bennani, Cyprien Gaillard, and Lauren Halsey. The merchandise will be released daily throughout the duration of the fair.

The offerings will include apparel, accessories, and footwear, as well as exclusive products tailored for the fair. Hammons’ and Denim Tears’ contribution, for example, will be Converse shoes that fuse the artist’s design for an African-American flag with Marcus Garvey’s pan-African flag.

Elsewhere, KAWS will interpret the iconography of Sky High Farm Workwear, which supports the Hudson Valley’s Sky High Farm, which advocates for regenerative agriculture, in a customization of Nike workwear. Brain Dead, meanwhile, has partnered with the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts to put Kelley’s works on t-shirts and a tote bag. Environmental organization Parley for the Oceans has also teamed up with a slew of artists including Holzer, Julian Schnabel, Doug Aitken, and Ed Ruscha to produce limited-edition tote bags made from Ocean Plastic.

Furthermore, an Oscar Tuazon sculptural intervention will play host to the first Los Angeles iteration of Comme des Garçons’ Black Market, a transient shop making its fourth appearance outside of Japan. And an extensive list of limited edition offerings and Dover Street Market brands will be available, from Alabaster Industries to Tom Wood, from Alaia to Undercover Madstore. Also available will be a free zine produced by Felix and Dover Street with creative agency Kaleidoscope.

Felix Art Fair is on view at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, 7000 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, February 28 through March 3, 2024.
