Following his dramatic exit from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, Thomas Campbell has apparently landed on his feet—on the West Coast. This morning, the Broad museum announced that he is one of four new board members at the Los Angeles institution.

Also joining the ranks are Hollywood executive Sherry Lansing, the Broad’s founding director and longtime art advisor Joanne Heyler, and the Broad’s general counsel Deborah Kanter.

The new additions expand the board to a total of eight members. The founding board members are Eli Broad, Bruce Karatz, Robert Tuttle, and Jay Wintrob.

In a statement, collector Eli Broad noted that the board’s expansion coincides with the private museum’s second anniversary. “The four new members reflect a wide variety of experience in industries including the arts, philanthropy, media and business, and we look forward to applying their insights as the Broad looks to the future,” he said.

Campbell will be spending plenty of time in Los Angeles this year. Beginning in November, he will spend a year researching “the changing nature of the art world” as a Getty Rothschild Fellow at the Getty Research Institute in LA from November through February 2018. He will spend the second half of the fellowship, from March to June, at Waddeson Manor in the UK.
