This weekend, Gallery Weekend Berlin returns with an extensive program that spans over 50 locations within the city. Taking place from April 28 through April 30, 2023, the annual spring event will include 55 participating galleries highlighting the work of approximately 80 artists from around the world. “Each spring during Gallery Weekend Berlin-based galleries and shows welcome many guests of the German capital and present up-and-coming artists as well as established artists side by side. In doing so, they make visible the important work of galleries who support artists in building their careers, promote them along the way, and curate exhibitions in close collaboration with them,” said Director Maike Cruse.

Hosted at venues across the city, visitors can easily navigate between sites and galleries via the digital map offered on Gallery Weekend Berlin’s website. The multi-site event also allows for taking in all that the city has to offer in between, creating a dynamic and adaptable art-centric experience. Additionally, the website hosts thought-provoking digital programming, including artist interviews, exhibition tours, and gallery spotlights—with features available year-round, so visitors to Germany’s capital can learn about and get information on current exhibitions during Gallery Weekend Berlin and beyond.

For the forthcoming edition of the event, in collaboration with main partner BMW, the video series “Studio Visits with…” will offer an inside look at Berlin-based artists and their working studios. Featured artists include Aziz Hazara, Anne Duk Hee Jordan, Sophie Reinhold, Josefine Reisch, and Farkhondeh Shahroudi, and discuss their everyday life and insight into their artistic practice.
