We’ve got a jam-packed week for you, London. First up, Photo London is up and running, and it’s one of the most important photo events in the world. The fair is only in its third year, but has already commanded a reputation as a must-attend occasion for photographers and photo-lovers of all stripes, with a killer program of artist talks and publisher presentations. Looking to get beyond the medium-specific photo circuit? The rest of London awaits, and their galleries do not disappoint.

You’d be crazy to miss the blockbuster Philip Guston drawing exhibition at Hauser & Wirth focusing on his political “Poor Richard” series (which has taken on a decidedly more relevant flavor this year). Over at Simon Lee gallery, the painter Garth Weiser’s latest work is the result of an especially thoughtful and labored practice—and it just so happens you can read a recent artnet News interview with the artist here. For an interestingly curated survey of contemporary abstraction across media, check out Sophia Contemporary Gallery’s group show “Shifting Landscapes” which features some real knock-out talents, including Hannah Whitaker and Afruz Amighi.
