Not a lot of things make sense these days. I don’t know about you, but I’m having a hard time concentrating on much besides the news. That being said, art is one of the few things that still feels important, somehow? If you’re in Mexico City and want to immerse yourself for the sake of clarity, resistance, or distraction, I get you. There’s about to be a lot more to see than usual: The Zona Maco art fair opens its doors on February 8. Billed as Latin America’s most important contemporary art fair, it brings together galleries from all over the world, notably including Bortolami, David Zwirner, Tina Kim Gallery, Marlborough Gallery, and many more. If you’re looking to explore something local, you’ve got plenty of options scattered throughout the capital, with gallery exhibitions like the current one at Galeria OMR to keep you busy, and subtly intriguing museum shows like one by artist Fernando Ortega on view at Museo Tamayo to contemplate. Be sure to hurry, as some of these shows are closing in the next week. Good luck out there.
