Monica Lewinsky, the world’s most famous intern, has been offered $1 million for the semen-stained dress she wore during an adulterous encounter with Bill Clinton, New York Daily News reports.

The offer comes from the Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas, which had previously offered Lewinsky the lower sum of $250,000 for the infamous garment.

In a letter sent to Lewinsky, Victoria Hartmann, executive director of the museum, explained she wants to make the blue dress a part of an exhibit “examining the private relationships of people in power, gender dynamics (and) politics.”

Lewinsky has yet to respond to Hartmann but, in a feature published in Vanity Fair last year, the former White House intern, who was 22 years old when she started an affair with Clinton, seemed to be more than ready to leave the scandal behind her for good.

“It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress,” she wrote, adding “I, myself, deeply regret what happened between me and President Clinton.”

She also confessed to having struggled to find a job in communications and branding in the years after the controversial incident. “Because of what potential employers so tactfully referred to as my ‘history,’ I was never ‘quite right’ for the position,” she wrote.

Lewinsky’s affair with the then-49-year-old Clinton made headlines in 1998. She claimed to have had sexual relations with the married president of the US nine times between 1995 and 1997 (see Painter Nelson Shanks Reveals Clinton Portrait Winks at Monica Lewinsky). These relations, she claimed, involved oral sex but not intercourse.

Lewinsky kept her blue dress, whose stains contain Clinton’s DNA, after the investigation.
