It may be the sleepy dog days of summer right now, where every other business seems to be closing up shop for the final weeks of August, but there’s still plenty of exciting art to see if you know where to look. Case in point: Copenhagen’s thriving local art scene is currently host to a variety of exhibitions, including work by heavy hitters like Tal R, Mamma Andersen, and Dan Graham. But don’t stop there—a quick 25-minute train ride will take you straight to the ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, gorgeously situated right on the waterfront. Don’t miss their current exhibitions of the works of trailblazing painter Gerda Wegener and the contemporary installations of Malian artist Abdoulaye Konaté.
The truth is right now is probably the best time to go see art. September is right around the corner, and the art world will be wide awake and busy once again. Use the break from the crowds to have a little one-on-one time with some art—it’s worth it.
