Bonjour, Paris. As usual, the City of Light is full of art, and the real difficulty is narrowing down your options so you can wrap up your day and go and have some wine. Besides all the regular museum obligations—if you haven’t seen the Cy Twombly retrospective yet, what are you waiting for?—I recommend heading off the beaten path and visiting the city’s major and lesser-known galleries. If you’re jealous you can’t make it to MoMA’s current Francis Picabia show in New York, console yourself with an impressive solo show on the avant-garde master’s work at BENJAMIN SEBBAN FINE ART. For another juicy painter, be sure to see Karl Horst Hödicke’s German Neo-Expressionist work at Tajan ArtStudio, which is practically bursting at the seams with brilliant color and aggressive line work. If you’re feeling in the mood for a bit of a trip, just outside the city limits is Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac’s Pantin location, which currently hosts the intriguing work of Swiss artist Not Vital. And lastly, for design lovers, Galerie Downtown has a wide array of Jean Prouvé objects on view through the end of the month.

Art offers one of the best ways to refuel or distract yourself, so whatever your motive, you have plenty to draw from. Bonne chance.
