Multidisciplinary arts organization Performa has appointed Richard Chang as the new board president, as well as two new board members, Joyce Liu and Ivan Pun.

Chang who was already on the board of MoMA PS1, Performa, and the Royal Academy of Art, is the founder of the Domus Collection in Beijing, which works to bring contemporary art to China through working with other bodies and institutions.

The appointment of Chang, Liu, and Pun indicates the non-profit arts organization’s intention to expand globally.

In a statement, according to ArtNews, RoseLee Goldberg, Performa’s founding director and chief curator, said: “Our newest board members are ambassadors in the true sense of the word, representing Performa in cities across the globe and bringing their critical overview to bear on what it means to be a cultural institution in the 21st century.”

Liu is the executive director of the Hong Kong-based telecommunications firm Elite Group and an arts patron who supported several Chinese artists in exhibiting their work at the ICA in London. Pun, based in Yangon, Myanmar, is a Chinese-Burmese entrepreneur.

“In just a little over 10 years, Performa has made remarkable contributions advancing the scholarship and prominence of live performance, and I look forward to working with RoseLee Goldberg and the entire Board and staff to forge new relationships around the globe to support Performa’s ambitious mission and programs,”said Chang of his appointment.
