Do you want to bask in a metamorphosing multisensory Refik Anadol artwork, but you need a stratospheric merch option several echelons above a museum gift shop? The master Roman jeweler Bulgari has an answer for you, with its temporary outpost/immersive gallery in downtown New York City.

The Meatpacking District pop-up, which opened earlier this month and runs until July 16, celebrates the 75thanniversary of the brand’s iconic Serpenti collection of snake inspired jewelry. Anadol, who currently has a hit MoMA installation on view and recently unveiled his A.I. generated spectacle Gaudi Dreams in Barcelona, was the perfect artist to tap for the project.

His constantly changing datascapes can be equated to Bulgari’s ever-evolving Serpenti motif. But whereas Anadol’s work is A.I.-driven, drawing on 120,000 snake images to “train” the algorithm to compose his work, Bulgari still crafts and assembles each of its pieces by hand.

Anadol’s multisensory sculpture, titled simply Serpenti, is a study in psychedelia, nature, and technology. It was originally created in 2021 and previously displayed in Milan, London, and Madrid.

In the pop-up show in New York, Anadol’s art is accompanied by “Bulgari Serpenti 75 Years of Infinite Tales,” a mini exhibition that highlights 25 standout pieces from the collection’s glimmering history, as well as seven new high jewelry pieces created especially for the anniversary.

“Bulgari Serpenti 75 Years of Infinite Tales is on view through July 16 at 70 Gansevoort Street.
