Welcome to The 12 Days of Artmas, our new, non-denominational holiday extravaganza—an advent calendar with gift ideas and stories for art lovers of all stripes, dropping daily through December 24.

Who isn’t dreaming about a trip to Paris these days? A stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries and into the Musée du Louvre would be the perfect balm for the pandemic blues. And now, thanks to Samsung, you can gift exactly that—without worrying about a plane ticket.

Voilà: The Frame. Samsung’s lifestyle TV—or rather, a television when you need it on and a customizable digital canvas when you don’t—recently partnered with the museum, offering access to 40 of its most famous masterpieces. Imagine Paolo Veronese’s The Wedding Feast at Cana or (oui!) Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa hanging on the wall in your loved one’s living room—with 4K QLED picture quality, and without hordes of tourists blocking the view. All courtesy of you.

Or, if they’d prefer to take in the museum grounds via The Frame, whose 2021 model comes with Modern and Beveled bezel attachments, there are also photos of the I. M. Pei-designed Louvre Pyramid and Tuileries Gardens. “The Louvre is a venue of discovery, imbued with emotion, a spectacular setting,” said Yann Le Touher, the museum’s head of development, brand licensing, and commercial partnerships, in a statement from Samsung.

The Frame’s growing Art Store collection covers everything from ancient civilizations to contemporary art, featuring works by hundreds of artists that also hail from institutions such as the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Albertina Museum in Vienna, London’s Tate Modern, Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum, and the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.

“We want to offer much more than a television, inviting art into the homes of The Frame owners everywhere,” said Wonjin Lee, president and head of the service business team at Samsung Electronics, in a statement. “This year, we are proud to join forces with the Louvre to enhance this collection and offer a taste of French heritage throughout the world.”

The Frame (2021) is available to purchase online from $1,399.99, with single artworks for $26.99 and Art Store subscriptions from $7.99 (monthly) to $79.90 (annual).
