THE DAILY PIC (#1787): This is a view of Susan Hiller’s Psi Girls, installed in her solo show at Lisson Gallery in New York. Hiller sampled moments from five movies that show teenage girls moving objects with their minds. The real subject of the piece, as far as I’m concerned, isn’t the occult or mind-over-matter or film. It’s our culture’s deep fear of empowered young women, and the idea that their minds might make a difference. (Photo courtesy Lisson Gallery, New York)
