At the tender age of 27, pop star Taylor Swift already has a traveling museum exhibition dedicated to her, and it’s coming to New York.
Known as the “Taylor Swift Experience,” the exhibition, which showcases all sorts of Swift-related memorabilia, is currently on view at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The limited-time-only show, which opened in 2014, had its run extended due to overwhelming popularity among audiences.
Citing a press release, Mashable reported that “The Taylor Swift experience gives visitors and fans an in-depth look at the multi-platinum-selling artist as a singer, musician, songwriter, and producer through personal photographs and home videos, interactive experiences, handwritten lyrics of Taylor’s top-charting hits, and iconic performance outfits.”
According to a statement from Grammy Museum executive director Bob Santelli, “debuting the Taylor Swift Experience at our museum in L.A. was an incredible honor and a huge success for us.”
And now it’s coming to New York’s Grammy Museum at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, where the exhibition will open on November 18.
“We couldn’t be more excited to get this exhibit on the road for fans all over the world to experience the remarkable singer, songwriter, and musician that is Taylor Swift,” Santelli added. “And we’re so thrilled for New York and the Seaport District to be the first stop on this tour.”
New Yorkers are already getting excited at the prospect of seeing the Taylor Swift exhibition on the East Coast. “With entertainment being a central component of the revitalized Seaport, we are pleased to partner with the Grammy Museum in bringing the Taylor Swift Experience to the Seaport District,” said David R. Weinreb, CEO of the Howard Hughes Corporation in a statement.
The show will be in New York from November 18, 2016–February 19, 2017, after which it will travel to Cleveland, Mississippi.
