A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with the murder of  the art student Liam Miller, who was killed in his hometown of York, England, on Monday.

The teenager was accused of stabbing to death the 20-year-old aspiring graphic designer in a street attack. Miller was a student at the Liverpool John Moores University, but had returned home for the summer holiday.

The suspect—who was also accused of the attempted murder of a 50-year-old man wounded near by—was apprehended by police after being discharged from hospital, where he had been treated for self-inflicted knife wounds.

He added that Miller was a bright student who was “beyond his years,” and that “his illustration work was ridiculously good, that’s one of the tragic things. He was a talented musician too and could play piano and guitar, he was always recording music.”
