The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden announced the addition of two new board members, Steve Elmendorf and Mark Rosman. Elmendorf is the founder of the Washington government relations firm Elmendorf Ryan and spent 12 years as a senior adviser to House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt. Rosman is a partner in the Washington office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and previously acted as assistant chief of the National Criminal Enforcement Section in the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division.

Malcolm Rogers of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts announced that he plans to retire as soon as the museum’s board selects a replacement.

Robert Schindler is the Birmingham Museum of Art’s new curator of European art. Schindler holds an MA and PhD from Freie Universität in Berlin, and has previously held positions at the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Metropolitan Museum.

London-based oriental art dealer Ben Janssens has resigned from his function as chairman of the executive committee of TEFAF Maastict.

Yuka Yamaji, a longtime expert in the photography department at Christie’s—first in Los Angeles and, since 2004, in London—is joining Phillips as the senior specialist in the photographs department.

David Rubin has resigned as curator of contemporary art at the San Antonio Museum of Art.

The Katonah Museum of Art named Darsie Alexander as their new executive director. Alexander earned her MA in art history at Williams College and a BA from Bates College. She began her career as a photography curator at the Museum of Modern Art, where she received the Lee Tanenbaum award for curatorial excellence.

The Public Art Fund announced three new board members: Patricia E. Harris, Elizabeth Fearon Pepperman, and Matthew D. Bass. Harris is the chief executive officer of Bloomberg Philanthropies. Pepperman is a former Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney and president emerita of the Children’s Museum of the Arts. Bass is a vice president and the chief operating officer of AllianceBernstein’s Alternative asset management business.

The board of trustees of the Barnes Foundation elected Joseph Neubauer to be its new chairman. He has been on the institution’s board since 2005 and has been serving as its vice chairman since 2008. Neubauer is the president of the board of service industry giant ARAMARK.
