With Frieze Week coming to a close, an art world turns its eyes to Venice. This year’s biennale might be dominating headlines, but not to be overlooked is the Tokyo International Art Fair. Open May 26 and 27, the event draws over 150 exhibitors from around the world to showcase major artistic talents. If you’re lucky enough to be in the Japanese capital right now, be sure to make note of current must-see gallery shows: SCAI The Bathhouse is currently displaying the latest work of young Japanese artist Daisuke Ohba, whose incisive, elegant approach to abstract painting is best appreciated in person. Visit Misa Shin Gallery for “Primordial Line,” a show of Arata Isozaki’s watercolors and calligraphy informed by his work as an architect and urban planner. Anyone who has had a chance to see Kishio Suga’s installation at the new Dia:Chelsea outpost in New York—which, sidenote, if you haven’t, you’re missing out because it’s bonkers good—knows his work can’t be skipped. Head to Tomio Koyama Gallery to contemplate the Minimalist master’s work, and ask yourself why he isn’t considered a bigger part of the canon when he is just this good.

And with that, you have enough to keep you busy all week.
