Marvin Gaye Chetwynd (formerly known as Spartacus Chetwynd) has taken to Kickstarter to fund her latest film, Hermitos Children 2.What’s more? One lucky backer of £1,000 or more gets to star in the film.

A collaboration with London-based arts organization, Studio Voltaire, the film will be Chetwynd’s  longest yet. It’s set to premier this October as the hallmark commission of Studio Voltaire’s 20th anniversary season and will be shown within a large-scale installation of props and sets from the shoot.

The film continues the artist’s crime series which follows fictional detective Joan Shipman. The first episode premiered in 2009 as part of Nicolas Bourriaud’s Altermodern Tate Triennial.

If being in front of the camera isn’t really your thing (or your bank account is a little on the light side), there’s numerous other enticing, limited edition rewards to be snapped up: Yoyos, a part in an upcoming performance, coffee mugs sporting Joan Shipman’s face, a pasta necklace, prints featuring motifs from her recent London show (read artnet News’ review here), and more.
