As the dog days of summer approach, we’re dreaming about flying off to some of the world’s most fascinating cities to see equally fascinating art. After all, art lovers never truly take a vacation (and why would we?). In Berlin, Lynn Chadwick‘s shiny, angular beasts are perpetually howling at the moon at Blain|Southern, while Os Gemeos‘ immersive environment in Brazil’s Galeria Fortes Vilaça is a mind-bending trip down the rabbit hole and the brothers’ most physically ambitious project yet. London boasts Adriana Varejao at Victoria Miro Gallery as well as Aaron Curry‘s crazily colorful paintings at Michael Werner. In Italy, Kiki Smith illuminates Galleria Continua with earthy sculptures, while Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac hosts an Alex Katz retrospective in Paris. Tokyo’s Wako Works of Art shows Fiona Tan’s video installation inspired by Rembrandt’s daughter Nellie, while Gagosian Hong Kong features eye-popping works by Michael Craig-Martin. In Sydney, Destiny Deacon and Virginia Fraser share Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery.
