The Armory Show has just announced the list of participating galleries for its 2016 edition, which will take place between March 3-6.
For this edition, which marks its 22nd year running, the New York-based fair will host 204 galleries from 36 countries, which according to the organization, is its largest international representation to date.
The fair’s Piers 94-Contemporary section boasts a large number of new exhibitors, including Laura Bartlett Gallery (London), Galerie Guido W. Baudach (Berlin), Galerie Bugada & Cargnel (Paris), Contemporary Fine Arts (Berlin), Galeria Fortes Vilaça (Sao Paulo), Goodman Gallery (Johannesburg, Cape Town), Bruce Haines (London), Rhona Hoffman Gallery (Chicago), INK Studio (Beijing), Rodolphe Janssen (Brussels), Paul Kasmin Gallery (New York), Magazzino (Rome), OMR (Mexico City), Ota Fine Arts (Tokyo), Galerie Francesca Pia (Zurich), Jessica Silverman Gallery (San Francisco), STEVENSON (Cape Town, Johannesburg), Galeria Luisa Strina (Sao Paulo), Timothy Taylor Gallery (London), Vilma Gold (London), Vistamare (Pescara), and WENTRUP (Berlin).
New exhibitors at the section Pier 92-Modern, which spotlights presentations of 20th century masterworks include: Aicon Gallery (New York), Gana Art (Seoul, Busan) and Ludorff (Dusseldorf), as well as first-time exhibitors at the Armory Show, which include: 401contemporary (Berlin), Bernard Ceysson (Luxembourg), Cortesi Gallery (Lugano), Donald Ellis Gallery (New York), Michael Hoppen (London) Montrasio Arte / Km0 (Monza, Innsbruck, Milan), and Leslie Tonkonow Artworks + Projects (New York).
The third edition of the section Armory Presents, a program of single- and dual-artist presentations by galleries no more than ten years old, will include London’s Carlos/Ishikawa, Berlin’s DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM, and New York’s Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, alongside presentations from another 19 galleries.
The seventh edition of Amory Focus, a section devoted to a specific region, will be looking at the production of art in the African continent from a contemporary perspective, exploring the work of African artists through presentations from 14 galleries.
