Amparo Carvajal-Hufschmid was born in Colombia, and attended Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, State University of New York at Purchase, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She is primarily known for her intricate textile-inspired woodblock prints, showcasing her dexterity of paint brush and material. She is currently a visiting lecturer in studio art at Dartmouth College. Her works have been exhibited throughout the United States and South America, including at Karl Drerup Art Gallery at Plymouth State University and at Museo de Arte Moderno in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Minimalist compositions on gampi paper made in the studio.
