Charles Bronson, dubbed Britain’s most violent prisoner, is getting a solo show at a London art gallery, CNN reports.

The exhibition will feature ten postcard drawings sketched by the convict. The owner of the Zebra One Gallery says she found the cards amongst her father’s belongings, between a stack of papers and canvases.

Her father, who used to own the gallery, reportedly acquired the works from a now defunct pub called the Bedlam Bar. According to Katie Malcolmson, a spokesperson for the gallery, nobody knows why the drawings were in the bar.

The gallery is also exploring the possibility of auctioning the works for a mental health charity. So far no charity has been willing to associate itself with Bronson.

Born to a middle-class family as Michael Peterson, he changed his name to Charles Bronson after the movie star. Bronson was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in 1974 for an armed robbery at a post office. However fights with other inmates and guards, taking prison staff hostage, and starting riots extended his imprisonment by decades. He has spent the majority of his adult life incarcerated in solitary confinement.

Bronson recently made headlines for changing his name to Charles Salvador, in honor of the artist Salvador Dalí, in an attempt to distance himself from his violent past.

The multi-nicknamed criminal’s appearance (sporting a handlebar mustache and shaved head) coupled with his notorious exploits, have made him a popular anti-hero with the British tabloid press.
