The London Art Fair, England’s premier fair for Modern British and contemporary art, will host its 29th edition at the Business Design Centre, Islington, from January 18-22 2017.

The upcoming edition will feature over 125 galleries from all over the world specialized in modern and contemporary art, including over 25 newcomers, such as the Korean Do Gallery, New York’s Muriel Guepin Gallery, and the Ljubljana-based Galerija Fotografija, which will take part in the Art Projects section of the fair.

Meanwhile, the London galleries Beaux Arts, PI Artworks, and Christopher Kingzett Fine Art, as well as the Paris-based Galerie 55Bellechasse will participate in the main fair for the first time.

Following successful partnerships with Jerwood Gallery in 2016, Pallant House Gallery in 2015, and the Hepworth Wakefield in 2014, the London Art Fair has also announced that The Lightbox in Woking will be its 2017 museum partner, with an exhibition of works from the Ingram Collection titled “Ten Years: A Century of Art.” The show will feature works by Elisabeth Frink, Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, Geoffrey Clarke, Lynn Chadwick, Edward Burra, John Craxton, and Barbara Hepworth, among others

Miguel Amado, curator of the Portuguese Pavilion at the 2013 Venice Biennale and currently senior curator at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, has been appointed guest curator for Art Projects “Dialogues,” and Christiane Monarchi, editor of the online magazine Photomonitor, will curate Photo50, the fair’s annual exhibition of contemporary photography.
