Ambitious gallery staffers, come one, come all—to the Midwest. The Chicago gallery Kavi Gupta (he also has a venue in Berlin) is on the hunt for a new director, assistant director, and artists liaison, according to the Baer Faxt industry newsletter, meaning there are a lot of opportunities in the Windy City.

Gupta threw a dinner party in Brooklyn yesterday evening at the studio of artist Mickalene Thomas, drawing dozens of VIPs despite hostile weather (see Mickalene Thomas and Kavi Gupta Fêted Guests with an Armory Week Feast and Mickalene Thomas Signs With Kavi Gupta).

Gupta’s gallery is showing important artists at the Armory this week, including Glenn Kaino, whose solo show “Leviathan” showed last year in Chicago (see Glenn Kaino Is Inspired as Much by Ferguson as a Bottle of Opus One). Also on the Armory roster is Jessica Stockholder, whom Gupta brought to EXPO CHICAGO in September (see EXPO CHICAGO Breathes New Life Into the Windy City Art Scene).

The dealer is also gearing up for Art Basel in Hong Kong (see Art Basel in Hong Kong Has 231 Galleries on Deck for 2015 and Art Basel in Hong Kong Takes Global Approach to Salon Programming). In Hong Kong, he will showcase McArthur Binion, Angel Otero, Roxy Paine, Scott Reeder, Clare E. Rojas, and Jessica Stockholder.

Be prepared to get straight to work on the home front: Kavi Gupta’s upcoming Otero exhibition “Lago” opens March 28 and runs through May 9.
