The exhibitor list for the 2024 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach has been released, and with it comes the promise of another exciting week in December in the Magic City.

This year’s lineup has 283 exhibitors, up from 277 last year, with 32 participating in the fair for the first time—the largest batch of newcomers since 2008, according to Art Basel. They include Jakarta’s ROH Gallery, which will be the first Indonesian gallery ever to take part in the event, Leeahn Gallery (of Seoul and Daegu, South Korea), Pearl Lam Galleries (Hong Kong and Shanghai), and Gallery Wendi Norris (San Francisco).

The big batch of fresh talent also means that some 2023 exhibitors will not be on hand this year. They include Corbett vs. Dempsey (Chicago), Kukje Gallery, Morán Morán, and Galerie Eva Presenhuber, as well as a number of galleries that have recently shuttered, like Cheim and Read, Simone Subal Gallery, and Mitchell-Innes and Nash.

“It was incredibly important that we carve out a more equitable path to participation for small and mid-sized galleries entering the main sector of this show,” Bridget Finn, the director of Art Basel Miami Beach, said in a statement, “and the proof is in the extraordinary number of newcomers joining this edition.”

The fair is slated to take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from December 6 through December 8, with a VIP opening on December 5. (The mood may be a bit different this year, following Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s veto of more than $32 million in arts and culture grants from next year’s budget.)
